I'm sure everyone has heard about the Connecticut school shooting that happened a few days ago. It's a horrible tragedy, but isn't all murder bad?
Yes, a lot of innocent little kids who didn't deserve to die were killed. It's horrible, don't get me wrong. I don't know what kind of sick person would want kill little kids. What could they have possibly done to him to make him kill them? What did they do, call him a poopy face? They're kids, they do stupid things, live with it.
Yes, the Connecticut school shooting is horrible and so was the Colorado theater shooting, but what about the everyday gang shootings that happen? Everyday someone dies in a gang shooting, whether its a gang member or some stray bullet that flies through a house and kills an innocent man, woman, or child. Why is no one making a big deal about the gang shootings? There has been more deaths in gang shootings than in both of the Connecticut school shooting and the Colorado theater shooting combined. Yet, no one talks about them.
If everyone thinks the murdering of innocent little kids is horrible, then why do people have abortions? When you have an abortion, you are killing an innocent little baby. Millions of abortions happen throughout the year, millions of innocent babies are murdered. Yet, no one cares.
If you don't think an abortion is considered murder you may say that it isn't a person when the abortion takes place. Well, it is a potential person. It's growing inside of you to become a person. If you were to say having an abortion is okay because a fetus can't think for itself, you'd be right on one thing, a fetus cannot think for itself, but a new born baby also can't think for itself. Would you kill a new born baby? It would be the same thing.
Why is it when a shooting happens at a school or a theater or anywhere in a suburban town, it's always looked on as such a big deal. It is a big deal, but so are abortions, gang shootings, and terrorist attacks.
Now because of the Connecticut shooting, everyone is blaming someone for it. People are blaming the NRA, violent Hollywood movies, violent video games. Who's to blame? The guy who did the shooting is to blame. You can't blame the NRA. The NRA supports the Second Amendment of the Constitution which says, the right of the people to keep and bear arms. Plus the NRA wants to put armed guards in schools. Which is a very good idea, if you think about it. Safety first, especially safety of the children. This could also help with the bullying problem.
You also can't blame movies and video games. Millions of people watch movies and play video games and you don't see all those millions of people going outside and killing random people, do you?
This also works the exact same way of owning a gun. Not everyone who owns a gun is going to go out killing people. People own a gun to protect themselves from people who break into their house or threaten their lives. If you take that away from them, more innocent people will die because they cannot defend themselves.
You may think that if you got rid of gun stores, people wont need to defend themselves, but you would be wrong. Criminals will always find ways to get guns. Whether its through the black market or some other way, they will always find them. And when they do, innocent people will be defenseless against them. That is why we need to keep and defend the Second Amendment. We need the right to own and bear arms for the safety of ourselves and of our children.
